Off-the-Strip and Elegantly Off-Beat: Kayla + Jon at The Doyle

Of all the weddings from this past year, Kayla and Jon's wedding at The Doyle, located in the retro-chic Arts District was one of our very favorites. We absolutely loved everything about their style and vibe. And stop me if I'm wrong, but aren't they just gorgeous to boot? Seriously these two can not take a bad photo. It's also worth mentioning that they were the sweetest people to work with and made the planning process a dream.

First look at Smith Center

I love the fact that the couple and their photographer chose to do a first-look at the Smith Center downtown. The architecture, the grounds, and the yummy light all worked together to create the most stunning backdrop to photograph the couple and their entourage. I don't know what to swoon over first: Kayla's dress? Her hair? Those huge, gorgeous eyes? The colors and textures in her bouquet? The way she and Jon look at each other? Seriously, dang.

Back at The Doyle...

The thing about The Doyle that really sets it apart from other wedding venues (besides the Alpacas, yes, Alpacas...more on that later) is the fact that it is such a cool, blank slate. It has its own unique character, but with just a spark of imagination, anyone having an event there can truly transform it into a one-of-a-kind experience. The open floor plan and high, industrial ceilings just make it ready for anything you can dream up. For Kayla and Jon, we created a stunning focal point for their ceremony using our circular metal arch (covered in flowers of course!) as a back drop to their ceremony. The aisle was lined with rows of lush greenery, and candles, candles, candles.

Later, after the guests went outside in the courtyard to mingle and cheer the newlyweds, the I Do Details, Flourish, and Doyle crews (and some family members of the new Mr and Mrs) came together to turn the room into a reception venue for dinner and dancing. Long tables were brought in, and the greenery which lined the aisle became the table runners. But our favorite detail was re-purposing the circular arch as a luxe backdrop to the sweetheart table.

And of course, the Alpacas. Bob (aka Bob Marley) loves to mix and mingle with the guests. Don't call him a party crasher though--he gets offended.
